Treatment:
Influenza can also lead to other diseases, such as pneumonia. This makes it especially dangerous to young children and elderly people.
The CDC keep track of the different strains of the influenza virus that are in circulation for that given season and create new flu shots since the virus can change so much from year to year the flu shot given for each new season must be adapted for that season.

There is no cure for influenza but there are antiviral drugs which can be used as a treatment for the illness and can make there virus less severe and not last as long.

The flu shot can only protect against the most common of the flu viruses and the virus strains which seem to be more contractible for that year
But ever so often a different type that wasn't anticipated for that year can spread more than expected when this happens the flu shot can give some protection more commonly you may get minor symptoms or may not even get sick but just be a carrier
